Update

Its official! The grand opening of the Abyss will be on Saturday, November 10th from 1pm to 3pm SL time. Sunn and I will be on hand to greet visitors, answer questions, etc.

The Abyss is a virtual museum of the deep sea. It will feature art as well as science in the form of an underwater sculpture garden and a gallery area on the surface. I've created a website where Sunn Thunders and myself will be posting news and announcements.

Second Life at Its Finest

It's the shining moments in Second Life that make us realize why we are here and how fortunate we are to be citizens of this great community. Combine the atmosphere of Oyster Bay with the world class piano artistry of Origin Rang and you have the ingredients for a great event. But it doesn't stop there. Share the evening of masterful classical piano on a beautiful bayside pier with your best friends and most admired residents of the metaverse and you have a memorable experience that fills your home and heart with joy and happiness. Friday night's concert was just that: Origin Rang thrilled an enthusiastic audience yet again with his almost inhuman passion and energy on the piano. Truly Second Life at its finest... —Sunn Thunders

Reflexive Architecture by Keystone Bouchard

A wonderful installation that makes perfect use of Second Life as a creative platform, Keystone Bouchard's Reflexive Architecture could easily be considered one of the current marvels of Second Life art. You can check out the installation in person at the Gallery of Reflexive Architecture.

Conceptualized by Keystone and scripted by Fumon Kubo, the scripts for this reflexive architecture have recently gone open-source so as to provide room for the general public to play with and improve upon the existing software.

You can find the script here; now get out there and play!

Best of SL Art: October

written by Cyanide Seelowe

October is upon us-- this means cooler weather, daylight savings and voting for the Best of SL Art!

A hearty and enthusiastic congratulations goes out to all 82 of our nominees-- you have no idea how exciting it is to see you guys proudly displaying your nomination banners at your respective venues!

Now is the time to vote for who you think is the "most influential" in their respective categories; to do so, please give the voting blog a visit, and feel free to vote in as many categories as you please (preferably all of them!).
